Quartz Countertops

Quartz countertops are engineered stones from natural quartz, one of the hardest minerals found in the Earth, and small amounts of glass or metallic flecks are added to create variety, resulting in beautiful countertops. Quartz is a non-porous material which does not allow bacteria to grow which is so important today to protect your family and naturally resists against stains making kitchen clean-up easy. Quartz never needs to be sealed or polished.

Aside from the durability that quartz provides, SileStone Quartz is made to be beautiful with a wide variety of color options. Your options are nearly endless as quartz ranges from natural colors such as whites, blacks and browns to other colors such as golds or blues. Imagine getting the look of white marble but not needing to worry about it staining that is typically associated with a natural marble. The design of a quartz countertop not only brings character to your kitchen but offers performance advantages that exceed many other traditional materials.

Is SileStone Quartz Better Than Granite?

When looking at stone countertops it can be hard because depending on who you talk to you may get different answers to the same questions. When comparing Granite and Quartz the answer is not a simple because it will vary depending on your needs, desires and the quality of the granite that you choose.

Not all Granite countertops are the same. Just like diamonds are not all the same. So you can get the same type of stone (like an Uba Tuba) and have two different qualities even though they look identical. How can you tell the difference? Granite goes through a grading process and some granite, such as Sensa goes through an extra process to allow it to be stain resistant.

With a lower quality stone you can have a lot of issues. However, a high quality stone would have a performance level similar to that of a High Quality Quartz. It is less likely to crack, resistant to stains and is durable.

Not all quartz id the same either. However, SileStone Quartz is made from high grade quartz and resins and the performance is exceptional. SileStone is Stain, Scratch and Wear Resistant.

Not all countertops are the same...

When it comes to selecting a company to install your countertops. Make sure that the countertop is made of high quality quartz and resins. A good rule of thumb is that if the price is lower normally the quality is lower as well. Avoid second-grade materials that you may find at mass retailers.
